“Let’s talk about sex baby, let’s talk about you and me….”
I’m such a fan of any song from 80’s, and how can you go wrong with Salt-N-Pepa?! Hopefully, that song will be stuck in your head for the day. This is the blog where I am so happy to hide behind the screen, because I will turn 50 shades of red. What I know for sure, being uncomfortable means growth. So, I welcome being 50 shades of red for a bit and learning where I need to grow through the upcoming conversation with the sex therapist from UAMS for Little Rock PowerWomen.
Can you imagine me interviewing Little Rock’s very own Ms. Focker! One could argue this is a virgin conversation for me. I have never spoken to a sex therapist before. The curiosity is endless! Being a #powermom in the single hood, one of my goals is to shed light on how we speak to our children about sex. What is appropriate for you, your children and your home? How do we help empower others to have these on going conversations with ease and not fear? I mean, there will be other girl talk as well. However, if you thought for one minute we are going to discuss how sex was going in my world, that’s a no ma’am! Next conversation!
One of the biggest game changers for me was the question “Who did you help today?” I started asking my children this question in the car on the way home from school each day. With each conversation, each interview, it is the goal that the conversation helps one person. Hearing the needs of women and bringing those conversations forward fills my cup! Who do you know I can help? #powerwoman #powermom
